How to restore the bodywork of a classic car

The steps involved in a full restoration are as follows:

1. Removing parts such as mirrors, door handles, bumpers and all rubber seals.
2. Strip the paint and apply epoxy
3. Repair dents and dings, apply patches and weld them in place.
4. Spray on polyester filler *
5. Apply primer *
6. Apply the chosen colour *
7. Apply the clear coat *
8. And afterwards, you can even apply another coat of varnish to improve the finish.

* Each stage is sanded using sanding blocks of different shapes and sizes to avoid leaving any rough patches.

How much does it cost to paint your classic car in Valencia?

It’s very difficult to determine exactly how much it costs to carry out bodywork and paint your classic car. Every project is different; some cars are in better bodywork condition than others – a classic Mini isn’t the same as a van like the Volkswagen T3… and it also depends on the finish you want for the paintwork.
